Any adult member who volunteers regularly, no matter what their role, gender or age is, can get a long service award.
Service is counted from the date you become a member, aged 16 or over, and actively carry out a role for 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60 years. Years of service don’t have to be consecutive.
You can check your length of service by logging into your personal GO record.
In Girlguiding Leeds, 5 and 10 year awards are purchased by Divisions and presented at a local event or unit meeting, as agreed with the person receiving the award.
20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 year awards are purchased by the county and usually presented at the annual Thanks and Recognition Event.
The annual list of awards due is reviewed by the Thanks and Recognition Team. If you are due to receive one of these awards you will receive an invitation to attend the event.
Please note, only commissioners can order Long Service Awards.
If you are a Division Commissioner and need to order any Long Service Awards, please email Karen at badgesecretary@girlguidingleeds.org.uk
