Do you know someone who deserves an award?
At Girlguiding Leeds we want to thank all our volunteers for their contribution to guiding – it’s an important way to make sure people stay with us.
Awards are a wonderful way to celebrate the achievements of members and recognised volunteers in your team. You can use an award to recognise:
- Commendable conduct
- Outstanding and excellent service
- Long service
If you know of someone whose contribution or achievement could be recognised, please contact your local Commissioner, the County Awards Chair at recognition@girlguidingleeds.org.uk or the Girlguiding Leeds County office for advice.
Our county awards are:
- Inspiring Volunteer Award – for someone who has fulfilled the requirement of their appointment to the uttermost.
- Personal Achiever – for someone who has sustained their involvement in the guiding community.
- Growth Award – for someone who has made an important contribution to growing guiding.

The Girlguiding Leeds Awards Committee meets twice a year, as a minimum, to consider nominations for these awards. The deadline for each round of applications is 31 March and 21 September each year. However, if we receive a number of award nominations in between these dates we will arrange an extra meeting to consider them.
The same application form is used for all County Awards for nominations from our members.
In addition to each award criteria, all nominees should have demonstrated adherence to Girlguiding’s Volunteers’ Code of Conduct.
