Are you recruitment ready?

The focus of our county-wide initiative is recruiting volunteers, as without new volunteers we can’t offer more unit places for young members to join.  We know that for it to be a success we need volunteer teams on the ground to help us spread the word about how rewarding and fun volunteering with Girlguiding is.

To support this initiative the county Growth Team have created a series of resources aimed at recruiting new volunteers, which you can download below:

Are you recruitment ready?– poster explaining the initiative and what you can do to help.

Quick Start Guide – checklist of 20 easy things to do to help recruit new volunteers.

Recruiting to different volunteer roles – ideas for roles, other than leader, than you could look to recruit to.

Volunteer recruitment poster

To help with adult volunteer recruit across all sections we have our specially designed recruitment poster, which you can add your local details to.  Pop these up at your local shop, doctor’s surgery, community hall, library, supermarket, or wherever else you can think of that a potential new volunteer will see it.

You can download the poster here to print out – Volunteer with us poster

Recruitment Resources

The county owns a wide range of resources that can be used at events to support recruitment, these include flags, pull-up banners, display boards, selfie boards, and bunting.

If you borrow any of our resources please ensure they are cared for and any problems reported.  Borrowers need to consider storing things safely when in transit or not in use.  When arranging pick ups or drop offs, please stick to arranged days/times or make contact if you are no longer going to be able to make it.

To see our full range of recruitment resources, visit our resource library – please note, you will need to register in order to reserve resources and arrange a loan, but you will find full details on our library web page.

Recruitment Boxes

The Growth Team have put together some recruitment boxes for use at fairs, carnivals, and other events where you have the opportunity to hold a recruitment stall. These have proved very popular and we’ve received some very positive feedback.

We currently have four recruitment boxes, which are stored at several locations to make it easy to borrow them (2 are at the Trefoil Centre, 1 in Crown Park, and 1 in Elmwood).

These boxes contain a range of resources to help you promote Girlguiding in your community, including: a tablecloth, bunting, a camp blanket (with badges including programme badges), a full set of handbooks, recruitment posters, postcards and leaflets, and bookmarks, stickers and chatterboxes to giveaway – and a bubble machine to attract attention!

To borrow a recruitment box, visit our resource library – please note, you will need to register in order to reserve resources and arrange a loan, but you will find full details on our library web page.

Please look after our boxes, as you will be asked to replace or pay for any broken or missing items.
